Amy Smart is an American former actress and model. Amy Smart, who was born and raised in California USA began her modelling in Italy. Her first role as an actor was in 1996's TV film Her Costly Affair. Following a long and difficult battle her way to a role, she got a chance in the 'Starship Troopers' series starring in Starship Troopers. Amy was unable to make the leap from modeling into acting because models are not usually considered to be actors of any kind. They are usually given smaller and unimportant parts. Amy did not give up. She climbed the ladder to greater roles, starting with The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. Then she stepped into main roles for the 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy became famous for her efforts throughout the previous 10 years. Then she continued to appear in some of the biggest film productions, such as the Crank series starring Jason Statham as well as Shameless, where she portrayed a character who remained in the spotlight for a long time.
