Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist as well as a businesswoman. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington has been television personality, journalist, television philanthropist and author for more than 10 years. Her role also includes being the founder of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. She was born in Greece then moved to England at age sixteen. Then, at Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in Economics. Being the first non-English-speaking student, she was elected the president of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. When she graduated, she made her reputation as an editor for a conservative newspaper and when the publication of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched an online platform for voice that provided critical views on the political scenario. The fame of Arianna led to the recruitment of a number of well-known contributors who shared their opinions on news, politics and other topics. Arianna was famous when she made the decision in 2003 to contest as an Independent candidate in the California Recall Election to replace Governor Davis. Alongside this, she was the leader of the Detroit project that promoted the use of fuel-efficient cars. Her rank was 12th on Forbes' list of the most influential media women. At the time, Guardian listed her among the 100 top media figures. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she became president of this group of media. It included a variety of AOL properties at the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Parents were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos who was a management advisor and journalist. Though she shared a kinship connection to both her mother and father the bond between them that helped shape her. As early as her childhood she demonstrated the skills of leadership for which she has become well known. When she turned 16 she emigrated to the United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. In her college years she was a member of Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman and the sole foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of master's in Economics. After graduating, she worked as a columnist critic, and hosting a show on TV. She also appeared with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing her own books with the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
