Taylor Swift has become a rare pop phenomenon: A star who strayed completely from traditional music into pop culture, becoming the pop icon of the future that will endure forever, and sweeping over all of the world. Swift left her heritage in the country genre like a second skin and showed that she had the best pop sensibility of her generation. Swift was the only singer/songwriter who knew how to be a part of the trending zeitgeist and take it on the road. But on her sophomore album Fearless released in 2008 Swift discovered her true identity and gain a wide audience. Fearless was a big hit not only in the US where its Top Ten singles Love Story as well as You Belong with Me helped it to break six platinum records however, it also swept the world. The album was particularly successful across Canada, Australia as well as the U.K. Speak Now delivered almost two years later and consolidated this popularity and pushed Swift towards the top of stardom. Over the next three years, her popularity grew -- Red (2012), Reputation (2014) in addition to 1989 (2014-2015) during which time she moved into a world of pop music where her talents were already well-established. She was on top of the charts even after she changed her style with her sibling albums folklore & Evermore in the year 2020.
