Fawn Mckay

Fawn Brodie McKay, born September 15, 1915 was raised in Ogden Utah. She was a member of the Mormon Church's original family Fawn McKay was able to direct her innovative literary talents and remarkable abilities in research to create the brilliant psycho-historical biography of Joseph Smith, published in 1945, entitled The Only Man Knows My History. The title comes from the funeral sermon of Joseph Smith, the creator of the Church of Latter-Day Saints. His audience was shocked by his saying: "You don't even know my name. It's been a long time since you've seen the depths of my soul." No one knows my story. My history is not known by anyone. Fawn, 29 years old was a writer. Fawn is taking on the mantle of writing since that day. Many have abhorred him and others have deified. Few have made the diagnosis. It's not that documents aren't there, it's the fact that they're contradictory. The task of assembling the papers -in order to distinguish first-hand stories from plagiarism by third parties, and then fit Mormon and non Mormon stories together to form a credible mosaic is no simple job.
